You know the market's in a recession when Google enters a hiring freeze.
On a more personal level, here's my retirement (glad it's 40 years off). We changed providers pretty recently, so you're looking at just a few months of data. Yellow is employee/company contributed, blue is actual value.

General Motors posted some grim numbers today. They are burning through about 2.3 billion dollars a month.
To break that down for you, it's about $887 a second. I feel bad for them, but I can't help but think they brought it on themselves over years of subpar vehicles.
It's never certain until it happens, but it appears the projections/polls/exit polls were right this time around.
The unfortunate thing is the Democrats now control everything, which could be thought of as good, until you realize they're probably foaming at the mouth because they haven't had a chance like this in nearly 2 decades. Something like bringing the fairness doctrine back up scares me a bit. Let's hope it goes well.
Let's hear it for history being made (and to hopefully never seeing Joe the Plumber again).
Google has a good way to watch the results pour in. It'll probably be slightly behind other ones, but otherwise will probably be the easiest.
