Balboa Blooms

February 16th, 2008

Today was once again a beautiful winter day in San Diego. Since the weather was peaking over 70 again, we decided to walk down to the incredible Balboa Park just a few blocks away from our apartment.

I had been noticing the trees in bloom as I run at night, they look much better in the day time :). I don't know what kind of trees these are, but it's almost like San Diego's own cherry blossoms.

One of California's largest tree's also has it's home in Balboa Park.

This Moreton Bay Fig tree is located in San Diego's Balboa Park. Planted in 1914, it now has a girth of 42 feet, a height of 80 feet and a canopy of 145 feet. Park near the Fleet Science Museum and walk north.

It's stunningly huge.

These are both stitches, however they were done in different programs, hence the black/white background difference.
